Here's a few thumbnails of my modified exaust I recently made for my bike.
It's from a Cannondale C440 dirt bike. I shortened the length about 5 inches on each end, making it only about 10-12 inches long. I plan to do some finishing touches to it this winter, such as removing the flat black paint and polishing the stainless back out, and putting a larger inlet pipe on it that will slip over the factory pipe, and using a stainless clamp to secure it, instead of the bummy weld job I did.
As I stated in another post; I removed the fiberglass packing, and the other stuff from inside the muffler, with the exception of one of the "ice cream cone" shaped, mesh screens behind the outlet. It has a nice throaty v-twin sound at idle and when you're getting on the gas, but is barely audible over wind noise when I'm just cruising.

Tiny ain't it?

That little tab on the side is from a bump stop because the can supposed to go on the other side of a Cannondale. I had to reverse ends in order to get the can out away from my swingarm, due to the mounting bracket spacing on the can.

I may lift the rear of the can a little more when I redo it this winter. Maybe not. Whatcha'll think?

Sweet!
Looks like it belongs on a military bike.
might look good on a rat bike, but not a shiny F.
I think it looks out of place on the bike. But if you like it.....
Its kool lil exhaust , would be nicer on a rat bike , but good worksmanship!
agreed. I think its cool but better on a rat. I bet it will look good polished up though :thumb:
Thanks for all the comments everyone!
Yea, I also think it looks "different". And it did look much better before I painted it BBQ black. I just needed to use the bike ASAP, so I did a rush job. But when I mocked it up, and it was still shiny polished stainless, it looked better. I like my bike, very much, but I don't think it's much to look at as far as being an attractive bike anyway. So in my eyes, I can't do much to hurt or help the looks of my bike. Except eventually convert it to look like an "E" model, or do the dual headlight thing like some other members have done. I like that!
But either way, I still like it better than the factory stove pipe that was on there.

Everyone loves the naked look , and your Fairings look in mint condition ,so there worth the big money , so u could pay for most of the mods , at least a set of dual Headlamps! :thumb:
