Title: problems with my lock
Post by: fox22182 on September 08, 2007, 11:49:28 AM
I have a 95 GS500 and lately the key doesn't like to turn from off to on. I'm assuming I need some kind of lube in there? Any thoughts about what I can use to fix this up some? Thanks!

graphite or silicon is prefered
also key might be worn or bad copy
have a locksmith read the bitting and regenerate the key instead of copying a bad copy

between those two options you should be gud

What works in a pinch for me, temporarily is to dip the key in one of the 8 million bottles of motor oil I have laying around, then slide it into the ignition. This is not meant to be a permanent fix, it works for a week or two, just do it so you can get to the store and buy some graphite lube!
