Title: Replacing Rearsets
Post by: Bird on August 07, 2003, 09:13:15 AM
what would be the best bike to 'borrow' the rearsets from to replace the stock GS500 ones?

also, exactly what parts are needed?

CBR900 rearsets work with a little grinding. You need all the levers and springs, etc.

i was just looking into this yesterday on pablo's site.  i want to replace both front and back sets.  that might be a winter project though just in case i get in over my head.  it seems easy enough, but you never know, you know?     pablo, when are you going to update the pictures off your cbr600 stock rearsets link?    :thumb:

As soon as Bird buys mine and installs them (with photos of install)!
I'm unlikely to install them at this point.

Have yoo checked out RAASKS?

http://www.raask.se/ind-eng.htm

They got nice looking rearsets for the GS.

I just helped my buddy put Raasks on his B4 and I wasn't impressed with them. The pedals are nice, but the mount plates and other pieces look cheap. They also look bulkier and heavier than they actually are when they're on the bike.

Brandiwine, it's not a tough install if you have all the parts. Hang onto your old rearsets in case you're missing something and you can throw the stockers back on in 5 minutes if you get in over your head.
