Title: 3 yellow wires - Question
Post by: Pkaaso on August 07, 2003, 10:00:20 AM
There are three wires coming from the alternator (engine side of harness).  Yellow, white/green, and white/blue.  The problem is the three wires on the bike are all yellow.  There are three black wires coming from the rectifier, they change to three yellow wires.

The wiring diagram shows three yellow wires coming from the regulator/rectifier, then they hit a three connector and change to yellow.  The yellows hit the butt connectors. And this is where the three different colored wires are.

Does it mater how these wires are conected?

The three coming from the alternator don't matter where they go.  I had the same question almost a year back (before i found this site).

Tose 3 are the same...anyway you connect them to the other 3 is cool. In some older suzuki's the 3 had different tracer colors....making it very confusing. Many aftermarket ones dont have any colors at all on the wires...they all are black. Check electrexusa.com about this as well.
Cool.

Excellent.  Thanks guys.  I kinda thought that, but wanted to make sure.  My 89' and my 94' both have color codes on the wires.  But, the 99' does not.

Thanks a million,
Paul
