Title: Hello Newbie w/ a Exhaust Question
Post by: Yev on September 12, 2007, 06:10:37 PM
Hi everyone! I'm Yev and I am about to buy my first motorcycle and it happens to be a 2005 GS500F. The owner of the GS has some aftermarket exhaust on it right now and I'm not sure what it is. Do you guys think you can help me out? I have this crappy pic of it. Hopefully someone will recognize the company that makes it!

Thanks in advance and you'll be seeing a lot more of me around!

Thank you very much!
Do you know anything about this exhaust? Like should the bike have been modified at all when this exhaust was added? (These are all things I am going to ask the current owner before I buy it)

Micron is a good brand. I have one on my 92.

The stock exhaust is 1-piece welded together. To add an aftermarket muffler, the pipe has to be cut and a flange welded for bolt-on mufflers. Sometimes a small midpipe is made to change the angle or height but it does not look like one was added. This is popular practice since aftermarket parts are not too common for the GS.

may have an aftermarket air filter, (common combo, exhaust and air filter) in which case it should have been rejetted.
