hi everyone, im new here.
i have an 04 gs500f, 3rd owner. ive noticed that i have to leave the choke on for a while or the bike will stall out on idle. the throttle isnt sticky, and the power is strong and continuous through the whole twist and through the rpm guage.
anyone have an idea why it would stall out, or is this normal for the bike?
The GS is notoriously cold blooded.. she takes a good few minutes to warm up. Rejetting will help immensely.
other than reducing the time with the choke on, in what other ways will that impact the bike? HP, MPG, etc etc?
slightly worse mileage, but hardly noticeable. Bike will run cooler, and therefore have a longer expected lifespan.
also by rejetting you will get better throttle response, more power, more fun to ride and as mentioned before easier warmup. after I rejetted my bike it barely needs choke on warm days.
Cheers
