Title: Socal Folks, where do you go for parts?
Post by: flyingmachine on September 17, 2007, 11:09:50 AM
I'm looking for a handlebar, barends, clutch lever, and a mirror.  Any one got a local source for used parts?  I may need the parts sooner than I thought.  For new stuff, what dealership do you recommend near Fullerton(home) or Hollywood(work)?  The suzuki dealers I've been calling are for cagers only.  Thanks

well, that's where I've been finding the dealer info, but like I said, they weren't bike dealerships.

www.bikebandit.com (http://www.bikebandit.com) they are based out of San Diego, so shipping is QUICK-assuming the part is in stock. Good cust service too!
Also, for some used stuff, Johnson & Wood in North Hollywood has always been a great source for me.

well there is Bert's Mega Mall in Aszuza, but its really expensive stuff. i think internet is your best bet. also there a motorcycle store on Gale, Puente Hills Motorsports in city of industry. 17435 Galve ave. never been there though

the only thing Bert's MM is good for is trying things on before you order them off the internet.  That place "supposedly" sold a zx6-r for 12k otd... so that gives you an idea of the mark up they like to run  (if you don't feel like looking it up, msrp is 9k)

Went to Johnson and Woods today, they have alot of stuff, but unfortunately after going through a bunch of storage bins.  couldn't quite figure out what fits what won't.  I guess I'll keep looking.  Anyone w/ those parts local or not, please let me know.

Check out bikebandit, the price for the clutch lever may be OK. They also have bars made by bikemaster.. the clubman model is similar in size/orientation to the stock bars and is $20 or so.

I have those bars you could look at them to see if you like them if you want, I am in fullerton too. I think ive got a clutch lever as well, it is black though. email me if you want to check any of it out.

most shops dont stock lots of parts so they all order their parts from PartsUnlimited and take several days or longer to get the parts. I commend you for sticking it out and trying to buy from the local shop but...
