I finally got rid of my flimsy tennis shoes and got some real boots. I bough some alpinestars Tech 2 boots for 89 bucks at cycle gear, seems like a pretty good deal since most websites want 150. Their pretty stiff so its like re-learning how to shift and use the rear brake. For the first time i like the rear brake squeal since i cant really feel the pedal. Once i get used to them they will be good and it beat the hell out of a cheap pair of tennis shoes

Good for you. (sincerely, not sarcastically)
**** Please don't tell the wife ****
I've almost convinced her everyone wearing A*'s is a PORN STAR.
It's hilarious to say "See babe, if HE can do it, I KNOW I CAN!" and see the look on her face.
Nice boots by the way. Enjoy still having ankles tomorrow :)
How comfortable are they during normal walking?

Their not too bad if you loosen up the top a bit but definitely need some shoes for walking for a long period of time.
