Hey there. I'm having a few starting problems and I will outline them in as few words as possible.
My GS was starting fine. No issues or instances that raised alarms.
I killed the battery through fault of my own.
I live in an area where the closest walmart is about 2 hours away and succumbed to my impatience for a new battery/trickle charger.
I jumped my bike off my car(car was not running) two or three times. On the third jump ( I know I should have not kept jump starting it ) the bike would not start. All lights work.
I Recharged the battery and now this is my big problem -
Issue 1: Neutral indicator does not light up. ( even when in neutral ) Bike will not roll like it should be in neutral either.
Issue 2: The starter does not function. It won't click or make any sound when I try to start it with the switch.
Note : Fuse is not blown . All other outside electrics work. Headlight, turn indicators, horn etc...
My assumption is I either blew the starter relay, or the starter motor. What do you guys think?
I thought I would get feedback before I dug into the bike to inspect the starter. I imagine there is no issue with the switches mainly because everything I did leads me to believe jumping it caused the the problem. And the neutral light puzzles me a bit.
Any assistance would be helpful!
Thanks,
Kevin
