A Croatian motorbiker will be praying that the old adage 'lightning never strikes twice' rings true.

Unlucky Ante Djindjic, 29, from Zagreb was knocked unconscious when lightning struck his pee pee  :o during a quick roadside toilet break.

Djindjic said: "I don't remember what happened. One minute I was taking a leak and the next thing I knew I was in hospital.

"Doctors said the lightning went through my body and because I was wearing rubber boots it earthed itself through my pee pee."

Djindjic escaped relatively unscathed from the incident, suffering only light burns to his chest and arms.

He said: "Thankfully, the doctors said that there would be no lasting effects, and my pee pee will function normally eventually."

even though it's serious, it's still funny cause it happened to someone else.

I don't believe everything people write.  Esp. on the Net. So the story is complete bogus. The guy would be dead if ANY part of his body was struck by lightning. Lightning is electricity (surprised?) so it seeks the lowest resistance path to the GROUND. So be it his head or any other  body member he'd be electricuted way beyond survivable voltage, because the lightning charge would go through him into the ground. And all that about wearing rubber boots explanation. Pfff...!  The lightning charge is strong enough to find its way through hundreds of meters of air into the ground or water, so what's a human body to it?...

He'd be one roast black piece of dead meat smoking in the rain if he was struck by lightning.

Thanks for the laugh though.

yeah. isn't there a story of a guy floating around somewhere who has been struck more than once? i know for myself that on the news here in Ohio a kid mowing his lawn was struck. they said it was because he was wearing his I-Pod. got severe burns to his face, ears etc. so yeah, it can happen. but, believe what you want buddy!  :thumb:

Many many people survive being struck by lightning - more than people die from it im sure. However you do get alot of burns etc... Also being electricuted doesn't necessarily mean death at all. Depends on the type of electricity etc. etc... how long you endured it. The biggest cause of death by electricution is not being able to let go, when the body part (hand or whatever) gets sealed to the electric supply through burns or just causing the body to freeze. Ive been electricuted from the mains and survived with just a badly burned hand.

Its the amps not the volts that get ya, thats why you don't die from +150,000 volt taser. i make money off those stapler tasers and crap, people don't think some1 can hold it down for a +min- it feels cool numbs your whole arm  8) .

Your right and your wrong. 150,000 volts is nothing in comparison to a lightning strike.
W(watts or power which translates into heat!!!!)=E(voltage)xI(amperage)

w=ExI

let's set current at a fixed value of 2 milliamps(.000002)

The total power of a 150,000 volt taser is .3 watts, Btw the going to sleep sensation you feel is disruption of the nerve impulses caused by high voltage.
lets assume the voltage of a lightning strike is between 50,000,000 and 500,000,000 volts. If the current remains the same as we used in the Taser example the total wattage passed through the human body becomes somewhere between 50 and 1000 watts thats a lot of flash heat to internal organs. Many lightening strike victiims die of burns to the liver and kidneys. Also scientists don't really understand what happens to the body's nervous sytem when confronted it is confronted with energy levels of the kind experienced during a lightening strike.

if 150,000 volts to the central nervous system can knock a person unconcious do you wnat to go screwing around with millions of volts?

Jim Caviezel got struck with lightning on the set of that one Jesus movie. They said there was steam coming out of his ears.  :o
