I was working on removing my shims and just could not get something
thin enough to fit in the clearning I had, everything was too long. So i marked where the cam shaft was and took it off. I put the magnet on the shim and started to pop it off when the whole cam follower came up with it. Is there any way to get it back down?

Ouch! I am not sure what preparatory methods you used before starting this. Are you following a service manual procedure or something else?

Push it back down but do not force it. Just need to make sure it is aligned correctly. There is not much clearance in the fit.
alright i got it back it, but it doesn't move without some extra help. I did the rest of them this way because they come right out and figured to get them to move they just need a little oil. I forgot I cleaned that one off because the oil was very black and gross. I cleaned all of them and then put some fresh oil on top after i put the buckets in. I kept the cams aligned and am just finishing putting it back together. Gotta find whats keeping that airbox from dropping back in.
well i got it all back together and now its struggling to start up. Haven't gotten it to but it progressively turns over more. I think part of the problem is the intake bucket that is tight and just getitng a little more oiled, the other reason is i think a little oil may have gone down into where one of the intake valves are. Any suggestions?
I'm trying to nail down what could be causing it not to start, and the engine does turn over and just won't catch. I'm thinking either that cam follower(bucket) is causing it because the right side intake would not be functioning properly OR since I have it apart can anyone put up a pic of what the cam shafts should look like if they are aligned properly?
Set the ignition rotor with the R-T mark at the left (rearward) pickup. EX cam #1 horizontal at the head. Count 18 pins starting with 1st above #2 & ending with 18th above #3 on the IN cam.
ok, well i tried that it it just won't fire up :( I think i may have bent one of the valves. I am curious though... I don't have a rearward pickup, Just one mark to align my R-T with, Its an 06
do a compression test to see if you did, I would purchase a factory manual to verify cam timing, then compression test, and if you get not compression, then you just did the most expensive valve clearance check in the history of the GSTWiN
yeah, its binding when i turn the advancer, and not getting any compression on the right side. I guess it would be a good time to turn it into a gs550f now ^_^
Where do you live? be fairly specific.. Maybe someone can take a look at it..
