Title: Needles
Post by: elric8467 on October 02, 2007, 12:00:49 PM
If I put another shim under the needles, or if I move the clips down a notch will that cause the bike to run a little richer?

It will cause it to run a bit richer in the 1/2-3/4 position or at WOT throttle it will richen it up 5-7.5RPM range. Once the needle is all the way up however, it will not make it any richer and you are now restricted by the main jet. It just adjusts the taper of the needle relative to the bore.

I don't have the cash flow for the rejet kit at the moment and it's runnin lean as can be. I was hoping to richen it up a bit until I can get a stage three kit. Any suggestions? I have a stage one rejet, ZX636 pipe and emgo pod filters.

Screw the kits... just buy the individual jets as needed, much cheaper.

The problem with that is that I don't know which jets to buy. It's an Ex500 motor so I cant use the matrixes here. Unfortunatley there aren't such extensive resources for the ninja motors. I guess it would be a little hit or miss for me. I plan on getting the kit just not for a couple of weeks. I just need to do something for the interim. Any dvice for the mean time?

And a kit will provide how many jets? For the price a jet kit, you can buy a full range of jets. 135-150 mains is a good start.
