I notice it seems like whenever I fill my tank with gasohol from empty, it doesn't perform even close to as well as normal. Shifting is sticky, and I didn't think there was supposed to be anything between fifth and sixth gear, but yesterday my revs jumped close to 6 or 7K from about 3.5 as I was upshifting, like I'd gone into neutral. It's like the 10% ethanol makes my bike :cheers:
right.......
You can hit a false neutral between almost all gears :thumb: It just happens sometimes :cheers:
I hit false neutrals all the time when I get tired. That's LLT at work, not really the bike. Although, I don't think the GS transmission is exactly the most refined in existance.
LLT = Lazy Left Toe
yeah i screw up 1st to 2nd when i'm wearing my tennis shoes
wear some boots and that will change. you'll find thick boots facilitate easy shifts. plus, real men wear over-the-ankle boots, and have a better chance of keeping their feet in case of an accident.
How does the bike run on the same gas when it's empty?
Sounds more like an oil level problem, or you need an oil change.
When was the last oil change done?

Yeah, you're not putting the gasohol in the crankcase, right???

I do wear boots most of the time. Really only where the tennis shoes (Mechanix wear) when working on the bike. And the other day when I went to walmart to get new laces for the boots.

I probably could use an oil change. The last one was done about 2K miles back. I imagine it could be all in my head or LLT, but it just seems smoother with plain gas.
