i think that could be fun. who knows? but there really aren't many dealerships. none really close to me. i don't want to travel that far for a 15k toy. but i think it would be kinda neat. :thumb:

Im not so sure about em. I think it has the same problem as quadbikes. You steer it like a motorcycle but then it doesn't lean. They feel really unstable like they are going to tip up and you actually have to put a whole lot of effort in to make them turn, you would have to hang off onto the inside of the corner in order to stop it tipping up at any decent speed. i Just hate steering like a motorcycle on a vehicle that doesn't lean. Its so un natural and so uncomfortable on the road as the tyres grip so much it takes huge effort to turn the wheels of such a heavy piece of kit when it can't "fall" into a corner like a motorcycle can. It works ok on quadbikes off road because you turn the wheel slightly and they slide they dont grip so your not fighting to keep a turn on and it works ok on a snowmobile for the same reason, the surface is not grippy. However on the road on a quadbike is a painful and uncomfortable steering experience and i can see that spyder been exactly the same. Theres a reason why the 2-1 three wheelers always had steering wheels.
Plus it looks great fun to take out for a blast and it looks drop dead gorgeous but its not practical. Its too wide to slip through traffic like a bike yet its still exposed to all the elements like a bike. So you get no benefits of either a car or a bike you just get all the limitations of both rolled into one vehicle. You get wet, cold, you can still only carry one passanger, you still have to use ingenious luggage ideas to carry stuff. All things you get on a bike but at the same time on a bike you travel faster, slip through traffic, commute quicker and cheaper. This is like a car you can't park it, cant move through the traffic and you still get the downsides of a bike. Kool looking, would look great in a garage but highly unuseful.

I also think it's a cool novelty, but completely impractical. It's unique because no one has one, but at the same time, that no-lean steering, the inability to split lanes and exposure to elements? I think I would rather get a T-rex than that thing.
It would be as practical as commuting to work on a Pogo stick.
