Title: What to balance?
Post by: X-ray on October 12, 2007, 04:21:25 PM
I just finished repainting my rear rim from white to black.  Results are soso.  But now with I want to balance my fresh rim and new tire.  I know I am supposed to bolt on the rotor before balancing but what about the cush drive and rubber cushes? should they be included in the balance? Thanks     GO SOX!  :thumb:

Hi there,
Since it all can affect the balance, I leave everything mounted, from cush rubbers to sprocket carrier and sprocket and everything else.
That way you have it all covered.
Best wishes,
Todd

I leave the sprocket carrier off. You will not be able to balance the wheel & tire properly. They float and their small diameter have very little effect on the balance.

I am inclined to believe Dgyver. He mounts and balances his own wheels.
