The picture below has a screw circled in white. It is not connected to anything, and keeps popping out. When I get back from a long ride, it is sticking out and I have to push it in. The other side seems to be fine.

:o that holds down the windscreen. It supposed to have a nut on the inside of the wind screen.
I think that's your bike trying to tell you to go naked
theres two more screws on the outside, don't worry about it
or u can just replace the nut.
look on this diagram, look at screw (5) nut (6) setup...
order from bike bandit for a few bucks...

The nut can't be #6. It's actually a rubber sleeve that the screw goes into to fit inside of the fairing hole. I'll try to look underneath the other side to see what it is. It's pretty tight in there though.

the rubber sleeve contains the nut :) I know cause i just replaced all of mine (previous owner was lazy and used the caulking method to hold everything together.
if you like come to the Thursday's night GTG in Plano, I'll bring one for ya, and show ya :)
AH :thumb:
Plano...huh... might be a little more of a ride than I would want.
It feels good to be naked though...so refreshing...haha.
weak point in the windshield/fairing assembly. the plastic screws loosen, then strip when you tighten. Best solution is make sure the rubber sleeve is behind them (requires disassembly), then keep them tightened.
If you start to hear a buzz coming from the front of your bike, it's probably the windshield... unless your front fender screws are coming loose.
