Below is a list of bits I need, or want to further my racing career aboard my 91 GS500E. If you've got something on my list you're looking to offload on the cheap, pm me here or email me at kurlon@x386.net with the details. I'll update the list as needed. Thanks all!
Repairs before I race:
- clutch side fork upper (mine's pitting)
'Big bits':
- Spare wheel set
- 2004 or later exhaust system
'Small stuff':
- Bolts and spacers for coils
You can also use 89-97 Kat 600/750 wheels. They are the same as the GS, just different colors.
Same width and everything? Perfect!

Yep. 3" front and 3.5" rear. Same bearings. Direct bolt-on. They will not have the hub cover on the left side since they have dual rotors.
Most of the wheels I have are originally from Kats.
I have a set of Kat wheels ,Im in England Tho.

Hrmmm... is it legal to pack the wheels with proper English cider when you ship?
I have a rear GS rim with race tire already mounted. 75.00
I have a ton of spares also. . .
May have gotten ahead of myself... noise in the motor, gotta diag that first before I do much else... hopefully it's not a spun crank bearing or something painful like that...
Reviving this thread, April 15th is my first opportunity to put the GS on the track, time to get it ready.
Still looking for:
- Clean upper fork tubes, as mine are pitting
- Any year GS500F exhaust system (slightly larger headers than on the E's I'm lead to believe)
- Race legal belly pan
clean fork tube......emory cloth the nicks....
clean again.... epoxy fill the nicks holes
emory cloth the tube til smooth
you can make a pan in a couple min or a couple of hrs....depends on how purdy you want it
use your exhaust....what is the dif between 43 and 44 HP.....
Hrmm, may have to try the fork idea. On the exhaust, 1hp is 1hp, it's racing afterall, and I'm already down 5hp to 10hp on the EX500s I'll be going against, so I'll take any boost I can legally.
For the belly pan send a message to "Thumper"(less the quotes) over on WERA board. He makes belly pans out of fiberglass, and then you can just zip tie them to the belly pan.
See my bike with it on there below
