Title: handling related issue
Post by: bobthebiker on October 25, 2007, 09:01:36 AM
Since putting my new chain and stuff on my bike,  I've been riding it around,  but I'm noticing a major issue.  it just doesnt feel right in a turn as it should, as an example, theres a nice curve on a 3 lane road near my home, its an easy curve, and one I can normally take at 60mph and be in one lane.  on this bike for some reason, I'm lucky to stay in one lane at 50. it feels like the bike wants to and wont do anything BUT go wide.

this problem occurs at ALL speeds, from 5mph, up to 90.  someone please tell me what can I do to fix it?

a little data that I'm sure is relevant,  my rear shock is set at the #4 setting,  front end is a 2005 Kawasaki ZX6R setup, and someone put a 130/90/17 on the back instead of the 70 aspect ratio tire they SHOULD have(not sure if it contributes to the issue or not, but its worth mentioning)

can someone shed some light on this for me?

Might want to check that the axle is aligned properly, almost sounds like something may be out of alignment in the rear end.

GREAT suggestion, and it was the problem.  kinda explains why the bike wanted to go to the right when I was braking.

glad you fixed it.

as a rule, always start with what you changed/fiddled with when something like that happens. Your description sounded like bike ran perfect before the chain/sprockets so I would have started there. Keep that in mind for later...
