Title: Hello From PA
Post by: Chop on October 27, 2007, 07:00:19 PM
Hello All ,

My name is Rich and I am from York, PA Was wondering if there is anyone from the area. I just picked up a 1990 gs500e and I am doing some work on it. It has the airtech fairings on it ( but they are totally rashed). Also who ever own this bike musta did alot of racing , there are safety wires everywhere and its been jetted bored and revalved. For a 500 this thing has some kicki to it. I am presently sanding down the frame, painting the tank and seat cowlings. Also the handlebars were removed and clips installed. The starter clutch kept slipping ( crank bolt would not stay tight) that prob is gone but the crankcase cover is cracked and neds replaced. Overall this bike has its death and I am going to try to bring it back to life. i plan on having it done before spring , so if there are any riders from the area like tomeet ya and hook up for riding in the spring

Seems like a lot of PA Riders here..  (myself included - Pittsburgh), would it be alright if I advertised the address of a forum I'm tryin to start up targeting Western PA Riders?  I just started it last week, and am trying to populate it.  It's not my goal to take members away from here, but to try and localize some riders.  Who would I talk to about that?

Thunder in the Valley looks sweet!  Lookin' into it!

With 225,000 bikes in town, where does one stay for less than $1,000 a night?   :o

They have campgrounds set up EVERYWHERE! The Cambria County fairgrounds are converted into a campround for thousands of people.

If you are interested in comming I can check into hotels/campgrounds for ya  :thumb:

Yeah, I'll come down and drag at least one guy with me, schedules permitting.  If you know of a good area without lots of drunkeness/rowdiness that would be great.

Geep did you check out the website? I think that the Cambria County fairgrounds would be a good place if you want to camp. Its a bit out away from all the madness  :icon_mrgreen:

Another riding season is upon us.  :woohoo:

Just letting you know I'm here.  I'm up in Buffalo, but I'm totally up for a jaunt to PA for some riding.  PA is a GREAT place to ride! (in the summertime!)  Gimme a holler if you don't mind an old guy hanging around.  I don't mind riding in a group, as long as we keep a safe distance and not ride like we're in a parade.  Not my thing, know what I mean?
