:icon_mrgreen: I LOVE my new helmet :thumb: We just got em in @ work the other day and I had to buy one. I think the drop down interior tinted visor is the best idea EVER :thumb: I saw another CO. that made them last year but they cost like $500+
Mine.. flat black..

That's awesome. I wish I had that in my helmet. I hate changing back and forth between faceshields.
the scorpion 1k has the same feature, how much did that one cost?

With my discount it was only $129 :thumb: I think they retail about $200 ? if that.
Hmmm will have to check one out when the dealer gets one in.
My problem is I am spoiled, I love the weight of my RF-1000, one of the top 5 lightest lids on the market.
Plus unless I wreck I'm good for 4 more years on this one, I replace on a 5 year schedule.
Let us know how it does in cold weather. Especially if the tinted thingy fogs on cold mornings. Then you have TWO visors fogging. (THREE!!!) if you wear glasses. :icon_razz:
It's an excellent idea. I wonder why it has taken so long for helmet manufacturers to get the message?

not to bad, my next helmet will definitely have the flip down sun glasses.
According to HJC's website the helmet will cost about $250. The scorpion helmet mentioned with same feature is $300. :dunno_white:
BP, you mentioned you have a Shoei RF-1000. is it worth $500? i mean, can't i get the same protection from my $100 HJC? :dunno_white:
A simple yes will suffice
that's an awesome idea, and I do need a new helmet. I'd like the scorpion but the HJC's have always fit me so much better..

Sure you can get less expensive helmets that offer D.O.T and/or Snell certification.
Remember any properly fitting helmet is better than no helmet.
The key word is fit you should google for some articles on properly fittting a motorcycle helmet.
Now I am going to piss Bombadillo off
Like I mentiond the RF1000 is one of the lightest helmets on the market which I really enjoy.
The shell shape fits my head better than any other brand and model I have tried, not all helmets are alike.
If you drop a Shoei give customer service a call they will take your helmet in for Non destrcutive inspection, to check the shell for integerity and not just tell you to buy another helmet.
Now the really cool part, It has the least amount of wind buffet I have ever experienced in any other brand of helmet. Even turning my head to the side at highway speeds plus, to do a lane check or check on a group I might be riding with does not knock my head around nearly as bad as with other helmets.
I can wear my helmet for 15 to 16 hours of riding and not have any neck discomfort or headaches from poor fit.
And if you stay away from the cool graphics you can get a helmet from shoei for less than $500.00. I have seen brand new solid colors going for around $275 to $325.
