Post by: birdsGS on November 04, 2007, 06:56:05 PM
ive been thinking about puttig all the fairings on my 98 GS500E, but im not to fond of the one that goes on there. is there a way to make the one off of a 2005 or later fit on the 98? i like the those look over the original.

there are a few threads about this. you would need to fab and weld some brackets to make it work. one problem that comes up is the lack of an oil cooler on the olderbikes might cause it to over heat with a full fairing.

IS IT POSSIBLE TO ADD THE OIL COOLER ON AN OLDER BIKE? OR IS THIS GOING TO BE MORE TIME AND TROUBLE THAN ITS WORTH?

have a look here (http://gstwins.com/gsboard/index.php?topic=34319.0). there is no way to put an oil cooler on, you could just use the front headlight/fairing.
