Title: need help with a new key
Post by: mach1 on November 06, 2007, 06:13:40 PM
So the other night I dropped my bike off at home cause I was going to a bar and was going to drink, I put my key in my pocket and had my GF pick me up. the next morning I couldnt find my key anywhere including her car. So I need to get a key from the dealer. I have the little black plastic thing that was on the spare key and also the white tag the comes with your set of keys when you buy from the dealer. which tag do I take to them so they can make me a key? How long does it take to get? and how much will it be?

At our shop we cut them for you on the spot... I imagine most dealers do the same.  :dunno_white:

I think its about $7 for us to make a key, blank included  :thumb:

Should be no problem.. esp. if you have the dealer you bought it from do it... otherwise its still no big deal as long as you have that TAG  :thumb:

If you have the black plastic fleck with the keycode on it you can drop into pretty much any locksmith and have them cut a blank.  They simply use that code to look up the key design on their computer.

I had one done the other month.
