I'm looking at respraying my bike over my christmas holidays and I wouldn't mind keeping it an original GS colour.
ATM it's Pearl Novelty Black, which I don't mind, but maybe another colour would be nice.
My missus came up with the wacky idea of purple. :cookoo:
black is gangsta... keep it. O0
Purple's kick @ss!
What? No day-glo green? :icon_razz:

If it didn't look so crap when it fades I might
keep it black! black bikes are sick :thumb:
I haven't seen a better color on the GS than black. I am thinking of repainting mine over the winter as well and am trying to decide between yellow, black, and matte black. I'm pretty sure the flat is out of the question. I'm considering black with some flake in it. It's got some blue flake in it now, I might stick with that or put some copper in. Yellow is staying in the back of my mind (and if the frame was charcoal it might be a front runner), but my 97 has got the grey frame which I don't think would look as good with yellow. Antibody's orange bike is pretty sweet though.
Are you spraying it yourself or having it professionally done. If professionally, do it either matte black, or a nice pearl orange. Those pics of the bike that were pearl orange and white looked really classy for a GS. I just did the matte myself and if I were to redo it, I would pay someone next time. I put a whole lotta hours into doing it and getting it to look halfway decent. I think mine came out well, but it took me a month to do it properly. I also added new sport demons, rejet, vance and hines, ru2970 lunchbox, and now i'm going for springs and ss brake line.
I'll be doing it myself, so I don't want to do anything to tricky.
I've sprayed a car myself before so I have an idea of what I'm in for. :icon_mrgreen:
Mhmmm, i like the blue on Gs's i think its a suzuki colour , on the other hand , ive seen a Yellow like mr Kerrys , and that looked awesome
Mines gonna be blue :P so im gonna vote the blue!
Black is dead sexy. :icon_mrgreen:
Matte black would be even better, perhaps. :thumb:

I am planning on doing it myself as well. If I do, the flake will probably be exed and I'll just do black. I'll probably repaint my headers too.
I will be doing mine red/black and grey(yeah those are honda colors so sue me). at the moment mine is yellow with the black frame and rims.

I love it! Imagine you could do a custom paint job and then airbrush a massive design all over the car or bike so at night the design would show through the paint... that would look the dogs bollocks.
Yeah that glow in the dark paint is SWEET! I might do it on my bike when I repaint...would make you more visible at night too!
I voted black. WOuld you mind posting a picture of your current color, in full sun, close enough to see the metal flake ?
Mine is 'black' from >10 feet, but in bright sun, up close you can tell it's really very dark blue with metal flake.
I'm wondering if yours is the same. I didn't know the proper name of the color.
As far as painting yours, how about the stock "black" you mentioned, with SUZUKI ghosted in midnight blue pearl or chameleon color shift blue/black ? If/when I paint mine, that's my plan.
:)
I must say, I went with black, but only because I didn't see an orange. I must have missed it... I'll look again.

HOT PINK!!!!! or chroma black if you guy's have that color in OZ.
I've always liked the look of Flat Black or any dark color.
ATM I'm thinking that I'll paint it black, then do the rims, brake rotors, etc in gold.
Ohgood, the colour is black with metallic purple flecks through it. I'll get a pic of it soon, but I'll have to wash it first because it's filthy from my ride yesterday.
Geep, I had a look at those glowing paints and suggested to my wife that I paint my bike with that and she just laughed at me.
paint your bike black and use the glow in the dark paint for the suzuki logo.
I'm not going to worry about doing a Suzuki logo on it, just a straight out paint job.
paint it by hand, that way your bike gets a handjob.
