Holy Fu<k!
I almost threw up...those last couple pictures are horrible.
I don't think any amount of gear would have saved some of those peoples' lives. Others obviously could have benefited from it. The three picture sequence of the two upper going through a curve and beginning to wash out was a little comical.
That site almost makes me want to give up riding all together. Some of those people getting plowed down at stoplights is really scary....if I were one to get scared.....which I'm not......maybe sometimes.
ya, riding safe would help alot, but a majority of those pics were gear related.
So moral of the story....Slow down, Ride safe and respect the 3000 pound behemoths that share the road with you as they should respect you.
There is a lot of information there about reducing risk in other ways than wearing gear, too. It is something we should all think about every time we ride. Read it and follow it! It amazes me to see bikes outside of bars, but I see it every day.
There are some accidents that are unavoidable, but many are simply poor judgment. To me, that is why I wear gear all the time. A massive head-on will kill me in spite of any gear, but I will be protected for minor mishaps that could be fatal or serious without gear.
Ride Safe!
+1 trumpet guy
I've been to that site before. Pretty nasty stuff.
thats pretty intense, sometimes having gear isn't enough...there was a pic in there of some guy in full gear ripped appart....be careful out there and wear your gear.
