Just too much money, most people look to buy GS's used. Reason being most people looking for GS's are looking for a starter bike. If someone had $3700, most would go for a 600 with under 5k miles. I agree its a nice price but just not too attractive to the GS Buyers out there. Especially when I can get a '04 with 5k or less miles for less than $2500.
fair price. whether or not market will agree is irrelevant, as is if the same money can get you a bigger bike. When I bought my 2001 back in 2001 I bought it used from a dealer (425 miles on it) for $3500. So this seems fair to me.
Good luck mike.
OCryan, if you're not interested in the bike, move on.
Yeah I'm not interested in the bike for that price, just letting him know he might have a hard time selling it. If he's trying to get rid of it quick he might want to lower it a bit if it doesn't sell after a while. Not dissing his bike or anything bro, no need to get pushy.

if that were the case this part [below] of your post is unnecessary. Fine to say its too much for you, but the rest is extraneous. A bike (or anything for that matter) is worth what someone is willing to pay for it.

Lmao. Uhh, are you looking for a fight or something? Just let the guy take it for what its worth... jeez dude, chill out.
uhm, I think its more of a moderated telling you to STFU! than Pablo looking for a fight.

For what? Putting in my 2 cents? Trying to give some guy the insight of buyers? Don't think I've done anything to justify somebody telling me to STFU. And its "moderator" idiot, your worse than the guy in that clip you posted.
Man Ocryan,
You're just making friends all over our site today!
:)
I probably would be if Mr. Pablo here wasn't so touchy. And if you weren't so dumb.
No we just think your an arse, clearly. Pablo's point was fair you just disagreed and many others agreed. Sure you don't want to buy his bike but you don't have the right to tell him its way too expensive. It isn't expensive and it totally depends on what country and state you live in and the demand. It could go for more than he wants or less. Just because you don't want to pay that much doesn't mean you can tell him he overpriced it and "advise" him using your infinite knowledge of GS500 sales as to what he should do with it.
I'm not advising anyone, just offering some friendly tips. That's how he took it at least because I've talked to him since, he seems like a great guy. I'd love to buy his bike if I had the money, and I told him it was too expensive for me. If you noticed I said it was a good price, but considering the bike, it might take him awhile to find a buyer, which is why if he's in a hurry to sell it, he might want to think about taking less. I wouldn't expect you to understand these complex issues anyway Kasumi, so please stop pretending you do.
Clearly the issue is far too complex for you... no one wants you here so plain ol' english. f%$k off.
I totally agree because two people don't like my opinions the whole forum hates me. Oh yes. Have you ever had anger management or anything like that? I think you may need some help. PM me if you want the hotline number.
you people like to test my patience, dont you...
:flipoff:
Not really. :icon_mrgreen:
wow this thread got thrashed...
-bump-
I'm on ocryan's side. I don't see what he said that got everyones panties all in a bunch. We are all GSers...we should treat each other that way. I don't want someone to turn away from this site because someone is being an @$$hole. There is so much to learn on gstwin.com. Let's invite everyone in and welcome them warmly.
how about we get back to title thread topic?
thanks.
agreed
wow, i saw 20 replies on this topic and expected to see a bidding war, not a battle of opinions. :dunno_white:
okay, please be nice to me, this is purely an attempt to help the seller.
New GS's can be found around here (Memphis, middle of the US and able to ship anywhere) for $3999 in the showroom with 0 miles. Your bike looks great, but just like a car driving off the lot you lose a lot of equity. And if you can't find a local buyer, then they have to consider cost of shipping, etc.
If you figure the avg bike loses 30% in the first 100 miles then your bike may go more quickly if you list it under 3500. I know that is a 1000 hit from your original purchase, but imagine a 20,000 car sold at the 250 mark...it's going to sell for aprx 40% below sticker to a dealer on trade or 25-30% less on a private party sale. A $1000 isn't bad to lose on a bike when you consider the comparison to losing 4500-6000 on a car of the same characteristics. I deal with determining car/equipment values daily so I see this a lot.
So, not taking any sides, but I think Oc was just trying to help and I have to agree that his logic makes sense. I'm new to this board and so far I love the amount of info and the willingness of others to help, but there are too many posts of people acting like 15yr old sisters, and that crowds the helpful and supportive stuff. In the famous words of a great singer, "why can't we be friends?"
I really hope you sell your nice looking bike man. If I lived near you, I'd try and get it as it is a good deal.
Happy Thanksgiving.
let the lashing begin.
