Post by: mach1 on November 17, 2007, 12:55:20 PM
How do I remove the ingition cylinder from an 04? Or even better how do I remove the gas cap without a key? I need to get a new key made and they need something to go off and I have no idea what to give him.

Seat lock is the easiest component to remove.

No, only the ignition should be used. The rest all use only parts of the key.
Cool.

Remove the triple clamp with the ignition switch attached and take it to a lock smith.

Do you still have that plastic rectangle with the key code on it that came with the bike keys?  Or have the key code pencilled in your owners manual/documentation?

Because if you have that you can take it to any local locksmith and have them bring up the key design on their computer.  I did it - and it cost ~$20 for a new set.
