Title: Simple green is sooooooo awesome!
Post by: makenzie71 on November 18, 2007, 04:09:07 PM
Well I decided to clean up my engine bay...it was a bit rough.  I kept hearing and reading all these wonderful things about simple green so I went out and picked some up.  Simple stuff...mixed it half and half with water and loaded up the spray bottle.

Started out with...

Like I said, she was rough.  So I sprayed her down pretty liberally...had to refill the bottle a couple times to get it all done.  I let it sit for about 20 minutes in the shade (didn't want it to dry up in the sun) and then went and hosed it all down (cold engine).  The difference was astounding!  After it was all said and done I was left with...

Just spray on, wash off, wipe down.  I still have a couple spots to green up but hey, so far it's been awesome.  I recommend everyone buy some.

It's done a great job on the bodywork but do you realise it's dissolved the indicator and foglamp lenses...?

I'm wondering what would happen if I put some on my wife. Will she look like Domindart's avatar...?   :dunno_white:

Evidently it makes air filters grow, too.  Maybe if you spray enough of it (diluting is for the weak!), you'll end up with 350 rwhp...

maybe makes them bigger, but also makes them cheaper...that K&N isn't worth half what that Apex'I filter was worth.  Hell, the carbon fiber box was worth nearly twice that K&N...bleh...

Oh and it didn't disolve my corners...it actually made them transparent!  So totally badass!  However, the effect wasn't permanent and they are once again amber.
