It's been a few weeks since I've been on the forum... Just been too busy with a pesky thing called work...
Anyhoo... I bought my bike salvaged. I imagine I'm about the 4-5th owner on it. The last owner had it for about 500 miles? and sold it to me. I'm pretty sure he didn't do ANY maintenance to it. The rear tire is as bald as can be (new Avon tires have been ordered). Oil looks black as hell and the forks were bent like no other. Seriously. if you saw them you'd be.. WTF?!?!? And he was riding it with bent forks.
Major things have been taken care of... but the pesky lil clutch.. I'm not sure what to do. I'm pretty sure it's no the cable because when a buddy borrowed my push rod (bike was out of commission for 2 weeks during a prolonged fork swap) and the cable was fine. So we're thinking it's actually the clutch?
Anyone have any suggestions on how I would proceed about this? Also maybe on cost for new parts?

what does the bike do? if you need it, I have a complete clutch assembly here, just PM me if you want it.
when i pull in the clutch all the way, the last 1/3 is really tight. Doable... but takes a work out on my girlish hands.
that would be your cable either needing to be cleaned or replaced. more likely replaced. if it was just replaced, lubricate it, and adjust the slack at the motor.
where does it disengage? you might be pulling it too far if its not setup right.
Thanks everyone.. I"ll look into it and get back to you with your questions.. it's pretty much just been sitting in my garage handleless (long story) but I'm pretty sure it's not the cable because when my friend borrowed my pushrod, there wasn't any resistence in the cable.
Is the turny-thing(cant remember the name) setup up properly under the sprocket cover. This is the peice that the other end of the cable connects to while turns lefts out and pushes the pushrod in(if you have it off your mechanical advantage when pulling it decreases as it rotates up. and is the cable slack adjusted and the turny-thing adjusted as well?

Are you talking about the clutch actuator lever, on most clutches a lever (cylindrical bar) that sits vertically going through the bottom of the clutch cover casing to the centre of the clutch. It has the cable attached at the bottom and when you pull the clutch lever the cable pulls on the bottom of the lever and turns the cylinder which engages and disengages the clutch?

You can pull that thing out and put it back in wrong, so that you mechanical advantage is reduced as you pull in more clutch, if it some how when straight up and down with the cable it you would feel it get very hard in the clutch lever(as in it wouldn't move)
