I came home from college for Thanksgiving and I miss my bike. Even though it's crappy weather...she just seems so far away. I think I'm going crazy...or turning into a true motorcyclist. :icon_mrgreen:
Me too.
Winter has come, weather is crap, when it's not bloody cold it rains. Or both.
And the worst thing is, I work on shifts so I have a lot of spare time.
But when the weather sucks, and your hobby is riding, you just don't know what to do with it... :icon_mrgreen:
...except maintenance...hehehe
Yep...I have some big maintenance and other work that I'm hoping to get done on my bike over Christmas break.
Do you know any Pescatore's over there in Italy. My dad's side of the family is Italian. Except my great grandfather Americanize us and change our last name to Preston. I'm thinking about changing it back.
well, if you miss your bike, and its not where you are, you have truly become a motorcycle rider. next will come the depression that is caused by being unable to ride for whatever reason.

>Prafeston:
Unfortunately I don't know any Pescatore's round here...oh well, there's been countless Italians that flooded the rest of the world...what pests we 've been are
BTW, keeping one's cultural heritage is a good thing. (But keep your family name as is.
"Preston" sounds nice and smart. :thumb: :icon_mrgreen:)
[/OT]
...am I becoming a true motorcyclist?? :o
...I doubt I'll ever be one...I've been afraid of bikes till a few years ago :o
(inner conflict in progress :icon_mrgreen:)
I know what you mean, I have only had my bike a short time and only had a chance to ride about 500 miles. And knowing that chances are, it will be spring before I get to ride again is certainly a bummer.
Randy
Yeah I've only put just over 300 on mine. I plan on riding it a few more time this month before I put it in the bed of my truck and take it home for some winter project work.
Don't get me wrong I like Preston, but it just doesn't flow off the tongue as well as Raffaele Dominic Pescatore.
Don't worry, give it time and your fears will subside and you'll be a "true motorcyclist".
Was all ready to hit the twisties on a T-Day ride, extra cool cuz not a lot of traffic out, and my 'zuki could not start before it's battery quit, and no, I didn't leave the parking light on! :icon_razz:
Hubby was SO upset, it just spun him out. I said hey, just slap the trickle charger on it, and went and got my little XT from the other garage. I rode it down the sidewalk into our garage (I wasn't geared up yet) and when he saw it he cheered right up. So I was really grateful today for the old pony, I'd wanted to ride it again anyway. Amazing how fast I got used to the GS, the XT felt like a rental horse compared to a half million $ dressage horse! But the XT is a solid bike.
BUT I missed my bike!!! She started right up when we got home too. We went to dinner at a friend's in Malibu, I sure missed that little windshield on her, it was COLD coming home at night, and I missed her comfy warm seat and big warm engine (compared to a 225, it would havelkept me warmer), and her power when we had to get on the fwy for a bit. I missed her up in the canyons too, the XT even with street tires is tougher to lean with that big front wheel. I did NOT miss her crappy ass front springs though! The stinker.
Now that I have a bike, I have yet another reason to hate cold/crappy weather. Is it spring yet?
From reading all this, I am f#$%#ed! I miss it already even though I haven't left for China. The next 3 months is going to suck. My poor baby, sitting in a lonely garage, dreaming of endless, winding roads and the Florida sun. Sigh.
Oh man...that's sad...you'll have to buy a cheap moto while your over there and sell it before you leave.
haha buy a mini bike and burn up and down the hallways wherever you stay
We just returned from Jamestown , NY visiting family. On the plane up I was looking at roads and hills. Once there I was really enjoying the winding road from Buffalo to Jamestown. Aside from the snow and sleet, it would have made a great ride.
Missed my bike too, but now I'm home in Florida. :)
Going for a ride now, actually :)
Thanks OHGOOD! Why don't you rub it in our faces...haha. No really. Enjoy your ride!
Update:
nice weather today, I've just come back home from a quick ride. :icon_mrgreen:
I feel much better now :icon_mrgreen:
I've got probably about a week or a bit more off the bike and I bloody hate it. I've already had 4 days of not being able to ride.
winter is bad, but having your bike in dry dock in the summer is worse... happened to me last year, when some part took a month to arrive...
I only get to ride mine when I'm home from school, so I took every opportunity this break to ride, ignoring the freezing temperatures. I'm definitely riding as long as there's no snow on the ground. The cold isn't so bad.
i just started riding again. :icon_mrgreen: today I went for a spin. it was damp and cold and foogy, but... we enjoyed! (by=ike and myself) :thumb:
Took her out today. Was glad to be back on...I hate this weather. It tricks you into thinking it's warm around 1-3pm then when I'm leaving to go home at like 6 it's freezing cold. Was still glad she started right up for me. Sounded a little funny at first but it's been cold and more than I week since I rode her.
hehe! You're officially addicted!
Don't worry, there is no cure.
I'm happy, I got back on the bike today after a weeks layup. :icon_mrgreen:
Trouble is I won't be able to ride it on the weekend cause I'm getting a wisdom tooth out tomorrow.
