Title: What should I get for Christmas?
Post by: pjm204 on November 26, 2007, 01:13:55 PM
My girlfriend keeps asking me what I want for Christmas so I figure this is a good way to get some stuff for the GS for free. Any suggestions?
So far I have done:
fork springs,
'89 clip-ons,
slip on exhaust,
jets.

Mods I am considering are:
Katana rear shock
GSX-R swing-arm/wheel
dual headlights
turn signal mirrors/ flush mount rears
rear hugger
SV chain guard

Give me some input guys, I figure she'll spend about $150 on me. SO what should I get?

Asking for obscure motorcyle parts? ... that's bold!  I'm getting a book

Oh crap... me and gf split up like 3 months ago, guess it would be a little too late to ask her for a new set of SS brake lines for my ZXR huh? What d'ya reckon? Give it a try?

Suspension should always be the first upgrade, followed by braided brake lines. Assuming that proper personal gear has already been obtained.

I think they'd look good if they weren't chrome. Chrome and GS doesn't make much sense to me.

But, if I were you, I'd go with the dual headlights too.

To clarify, I've got the proper riding gear (jacket, gloves, helmet) Don't think I will get pants or boots at this point. I'm about 6'3" so I would like suspension that will raise the rear up a bit. I definitely want the dual headlights but the hellas aren't DOT approved. I assume they will screw me on this during inspection.

If getting dual head lights, get the ones from FlynCycle and not the ones from Aztec8. I have both and I like FlynCycle's lights better. They have a H4 plug with better wiring and a semi-gloss finish. The Aztec8 light require splicing or adding a H4 plug (which I did) and a matte finish.

How difficult would it be to make the Hellas plug and play, meaning I could switch between the stock headlight and those? I am only asking because of inspection

Just add a male H4 plug.

Well I got my angel eyes. I thought it was cool that the box had a press here button that lit up the angel eyes. Seems like a waste of money for them though. I'm excited to mount them, the brackets included do make a nice spacer. I'm a little leary about the wiring but I'm sure I can get help here if I need it. My roomates are also electrical engineers so they should be able to figure it out, but who knows. My Kat shock should be coming soon. Can't wait to put it all on and ride.
