Title: Looking for a good mechanic or shop in the Bay Area for my '97 GS500e...
Post by: snopyro on November 26, 2007, 10:52:53 PM
Been MIA for a while.  GS500e went ka-putt after a long ride down to Fresno.  Scratch had initially come around to help diagnose the problem but we both got busy with other things to take a decent look at the problem.  Busy with work and the holidays, so I can't work on her but would like to get her back in running condtion.  Don't know if she'll need an engine rebuild or new fuel petcock...  but can someone recommend a trustworthy GS500e specialist in the Bay Area that I can bring her to that won't rip me off?  Thanks for the help and stay warm!

Heya,

Try Doug Knowlton @ Marin Cycleworks. I used to work there in the parts dept...Doug is one of two mechanics in the Bay Area that I will take my bikes to. He's a great guy and a fantastic mechanic.

I've had good experiences with Evolution Suspension in San Jose.  Also Santa Clara Cycle Accessories
