Title: EOBD indicator lights
Post by: sledge on November 29, 2007, 05:48:28 PM
Here in the Uk its technicaly an offence to use a car on the road if the EOBD (engine management) warning light is lit. Reason being that you could be pumping out pollutants into the atmosphere. I was told today that a similar law applies in the USA, but with a difference. There is now a requirement for a tamperproof EOBD light to be fitted in the rear window of new cars for the benefit of  the Police..... so they can nail you if they catch you driving while its lit..........can anyone confirm this or want to make a comment?

cheers

Aw hell, just find the sensor and start banging on em with hammers.  Airbags are really funny when they go off!!
Well, not so much when you're a stupid 18-year old, not wearing a seatbelt, in a plastic POS Saturn and slam into an early 90's Ford Exploder.

Ummm, yeah, I can't see that crap happening with the light.  But, if we do go that far, I might be staying in merry old England a bit longer than I initially planned.
