i only went and dropped my gs. but its all good i got the most minour scratch in the wold. it practically rubbed out with my thumb lol. but i only dropped it cause i was so cold i forgot to put the side stand down. i sort of lowered it to the ground.
any of you lots done any thing like this.
Well i just did it on my ZXR a month or so ago. Was riding with a mate and he saw his dad coming the other way down the road on his bike so i was prepared when he swerved into the curb to stop so he could meet up with his dad, i stopped fine but he pinched me at the curb so i couldn't put my bike on the side stand due to his front wheel been too close. I was trying to move the bike back and forth to get to a better angle to put the stand down and must have caught it on the curb, leaned the bike over and side stand just went from underneath as i had knocked it back abit, smash and oil went everywhere as the altenator cover smashed. I swore a fair bit lol.
Now drop it on the other side ( in grass/peat moss/talc/whatever ) and you're good for another 2-3 years :)
spit happens
Certinally does, ive replaced the broken alt' cover and the cracked panel, just going to spray it in a few weeks when i get time.
I nearly dropped mine once and another time I lowered it to the ground on grass just like what you are talking about. The time I almost dropped it I accidentally left it in gear and already had it on it's side stand then we I released the clutch it surged forward and popped off the side stand. Sent me into the table next to where I park my bike and I smashed my arm but was able to keep it from falling.

most of US GSes kill the engine when you put down the side stand (while in gear other than neutral) :thumb: I love this feature
don't you have it??
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Yes, it's weird.
The factory-installed sidestand switch should cut power when any gear is engaged, as soon as the sidestand leaves its resting position. :icon_confused:

Get yourself a working kickstand interlock and it will never happen again :thumb:
After washing and drying the bike, I straddled it and rolled it into the garage. I then leaned it onto its side stand ( which wasn't down)....I go right, the bike goes right, my head hits the car door. the bike falls on its side. Damage: my pride, my car door, and minor scratches on the bike.
yep. been there, done that. more than once...
