His headlight is a little different. The gauge is pretty sweet looking, but after checkint it out on YouTube, I decided I like the factory ones better. They seem to look more effective, accurate, and better made. The Vapor kind of reminds me of one of those cheaper handheld video games you can find at a toy store. By the way, I like the underbody white LEDs. What brand did you use? Is there an on/off switch, and have you had any problems?
Agreed...not a big fan of that vapor. Looks cheesey and cheap. I'm not a fan of fairings or windscreens, but that one looks better than some I've seen. Just have to see what it looks like on the bike.
I think it would look better with just a single headlight or dual headlights given the look of the rest of the bike. I've seen nice dual headlight kits on ebay. One member, lancemclaughlin, did some cool stuff in this post:

yah, after some thought, i think i will save the money, i just liked the thought of an accurate speedometer with a clock and thermometer. o well we will see. i still feel like the bike needs one more thing done to it, but what?!?

They were really easy to install using the "distributor module" that came with it for free.
the whole kit was expensive but it was a b-day gift for me.
I just used the double sided sticky foam they came with and plenty of zip ties. Ran it all under the seat and hooked it right up to the battery (as per the included directions) (came with an inline fuse, so no worries). I put the switch right above fuel valve (in between the fairing and the frame.
And now, drivers have no excuses for not seeing me. icon_mrgreen

Does anyone know if there will be a problem with the really high power surge upon start up of hid?

Hi I have the vapour seed ohmmeter on my 93 GS (originals got smashed) and it looks fine, and at less than 200 bucks, it was a steal.

I also have the vapor, it's nice if you want to get rid of the bulky stock gauges. Its small and stays flat... you cant even tell its there from the side/front.
hey Garethbourne and facepants:
when you installed the vapor where did you put the speed sensor and magnet? and did you buy the extra thing that allows you to guage the temperature of the engine (i think it hooks up to the top of the engine somehow)
have you had any problems with it? any suggestions or tips if i decide to use it?

I put the speed sensor on the right fork and the magnet on in the rotor. The temp sensors for air cooled engines go between the spark plugs and the head. Make sure that you ask for them when you place the order, they sent me the temp sensor for liquid cooled bikes.
Hi, there, no I haven't got a temp sensor for the GS but the vapour does come with a sensor but its for a water cooled bike, however there is one available for air cooled, and it is $40, the pick up for the Speedo, I attached one part to front calliper and the little magnet I put in the front rotor (reamed one of the centre vents) and it works fine, I did have a little trouble setting the RPM side up, as I was using one of the HT leads to wrap the pick up wire around, and it wasn't very accurate that way, but now I have used the black/yellow wire on the right hand coil, hand its much better.

Also had to replace head light, indicators (turn signal) and ignition switch, as they had all been smashed, so I used a small headlight fairing with built in indicators (turn signals) and I got a cheap bike alarm with remote start, of eBay, $30 and the bike as keyless ignition, plus remote, starting.
