RE-UPLOADED IMAGES OUT OF ORDER. sorry
Once upon a time, I decided it was time to change the ghetto setup.
You see, for the new headlights I had been using the bolts from the front fairing bracket. Since it was looong, I had to use washers. But then I bought new bolts and installed them. Yes of course, I should have bought black ones. Well, nothing that girl's nail paint wouldn't fix:
the end.

BTW: good job with those bolts - it looked ghetto indeed!!
RE-UPLOADED IMAGES OUT OF ORDER. sorry
That afternoon, I decided that the tale had to continue, so I started with this:
I took off the plate (the camera doesn't forgive!) and decided to move the bracket a bit higher...
By using the scientific method of guessing, and with help of the formulas of chance, I marked some lines (the plate itself served as a nice ruler) and tried to use for the first time in my life the tool called dremel...
Then I smoothed it out a bit, re-attached the bracket in the new holes I drilled and bolted the plate back in place:
Is dinner time! I'll do something about the turn signals some other day

looking good.. I really like the rim stripe.. and I have to do the fenderoctomy myself soon.. How long did that take you? Also, any opinions on what color rim stripes to get for an 07 grey/black gs?
took me a couple of hours, mainly because I was very cold and did not have all the tools at hand :icon_mrgreen:
The blue stripes were the obvious choice for my blue bike. How about you post a side-view pic of your bike so we can photoshop a few rimstripes colors?
This is the best side shot I could find..

All colors simulated of course... who knows how would it look at night (they are reflective)

I think I got my roll from tapeworks. There's also alloutgraphics, but I have no experience with them.

Thanks for the photoshop.. I'm still not sure which one would look best on the bike though.. (def not green or yellow though)
Red definatly.

I'm stuck between either Red or White.. (Maybe silver if they have it would look good as well)
White :thumb:
Whichever reflects the most light. I suppose white would be it.
Have you (or anyone) considered broken striping ? If the strips were interrupted, it seems the eye would be drawn to it even more. Say, 4-5 interruptions ?
Whatdyathink ?

I think that if the wheels are moving you wouldn't notice the breaks. now, if you put some on the spokes it will make the whole wheel glow.
oh well, this thread went in some other direction anyway...
I just want to add: Cars in front or back will still NOT notice you, even with the strips on. think about it for a sec.

Sorry, didn't mean to hijack this thread..
BUMP to indicate that I found and re-uploaded the images on this thread (per user request). :icon_mrgreen:
:woohoo:
Thanks man
I did the fenderectomy too, but I also took off the side reflectors. Yeah yeah yeah I know, im now less visible at night, but if it takes a car to see my reflectors on the side of my bike instead of the actual bike at night then I probably would be getting side swipped anyway.
Don't know where you live but in the Sunshine State (fl) it is illegal and :police: will lighten your wallet for you for free!
