Cashiers soliciting charitable donations in the checkout line. :nono:
Actually, the 1st time they tried to hit me up was in the A&W drivethru when I ordered the $1.99 Papa Burger special. Would I like to donate a dollar to the A&W such'n'such charity fund? Not really...I came here for the affordable meal, after all. Oh no...if I decline will I get special sauce on my Papa Burger not in the standard recipe? <Pitoooie!?>
The malady spread to Kmart. Would I like to donate a dollar to Toys for Tots? Sorry, no one else in line and lady you ain't hot enuff to make me feel guilty. :icon_razz:
:dunno_white: Can't remember if it spread to Walmart. I think it did...I think they got me a couple times (I'm a sucka for St. Jude's). Lately I been using the self-serve line just to be safe. ;)
Even at the truck stop as I buy my weekend cup of coffee. Could I throw in another buck for charity? Hey, guy, sorry I handed you a $20. Won't make that mistake twice. :icon_rolleyes:
Girlscout came to my door to sell me a calendar and I reflexively declined. What a jerk! Wait, come back! Too late. They did this to me.
I do get a lot of solicitations at home, though. Not to mention 19-out-of-20 phone calls I answer are telemarketing.
I don't need this :bs: in the checkout line.
hah
they tried to get me to donate a dollar to some bullshit at an ice cream place once
i very casually said "naaaah, dont care"
everybody in there looked at me like i was the antichrist. almsot all nonprofits are bullshit anyway, no way in hell woudl i donate to anything without reasearching it first
9 times out of 10 almost all the money goes to some fat cat execs paycheck, or its a money laundering scheme/tax shelter.
if you say so :thumb:
I always make sure to say 'NO' almost shouting, but with a big smile on my face so there is no doubt about what I just said.
Works everytime (even for beggars on the streets). :icon_mrgreen: <<-- (a smile like this)
I always say no. :icon_mrgreen: I am on the BOD for a non profit and thats about all the giving I need to do :thumb:
