I'm not sure if anybody has noticed, but I've been a little less active on the board since the summer. I defended my PhD at Penn State and started teaching organic chemistry at American University, which took a little bit of my time this fall ;)
Well, now it would appear that I am headed down the hill to Georgetown University this summer. I will be directing organic chemistry labs there in a beautiful new teaching lab that they just built in the med-center on campus. People, this is my DREAM JOB!
I still have the SV and I still ride to work whenever I can (which is less and less as the weather deteriorates in the area). I am looking into picking up a new cage in the springtime also; something completely impractical that says "i've been driving a heap of crap while suffering in grad-school for 5 years and I'm ready to finally ENJOY driving again!".
So, if I'm still a little less active on the board over the next year, its because I'm way too busy having a kickass teaching career.
D.C. area riders should get in touch so that we can go rip up the twisties sometime. :thumb:
heh you wont be far from where i am, well in a relative term. if i get ahold of a bike we will go riding, take care and congrats. btw what kinda cage you looking at?
right now my vehicular obsession changes with the day of the week
most recently I have been lusting over the new Mazda RX-8 and the Nissan 350Z. Previous contenders have included a late '90s Vette or a nicely restored Camaro. I guess it will all depend on which way the wind is blowing on the day that I finally collect enough cash.
where exactly are you, Yam?
im about 8 hours or so from the dc area, ( at highway speed limits that is ) :icon_twisted:
next time I'm headed down to Blacksburg, I'll be sure to let you know :thumb:
