Post by: javio1 on August 15, 2003, 08:28:16 AM
I need the brake rotor for my 88-89 GSXR wheel. I came across this list and I guess that the same rotor was used on a few different bike. Can someone confirm or give me the prpoer info? Thanks. Here is the list....

Might see if you can find one with the same bolt pattern etc and its a larger diameter rotor and it will work better than the GSXR one cause its a tad on the small side and the pad doesnt make full contact.

If you do find one let us know what one you used (larger diameter rotor)

Silly me I'd think the gsxr 88-89 rotor and caliper would be a good fit...Seriously...The whole assy should be adapted to fit I think.
Cool.

Hey Srinath, are you going to the boneyard anytime soon? If so, can you check on a rotor for me?

Hey I am 3000 miles from boneyard...anything that requires subjective stuff like this they will screw up. I have tried to get them to do stuff by phone but its near impossible...They'd rather just stand there at the counter and sell you new stuff...I wanted an R1 tail light... a few eons ago...I am still waiting. If I wanted new I'd have got it long ago...They are just bad when it comes to stuff like looking for stuff...
Cool.
Srinath.

Its not the caliper or rotor that is the real problem its the caliper mount, it puts the caliper a bit high so the whole brakepad doesnt contact the rotor all the way. It needs to be moved down or the rotor diameter increased to go up.

I think Ken said that the gsxr rotor is smaller diameter than GS, causing less than full contact but that it wasn't really anything to worry about.

Where is Werase643 when you need him?
