Title: snowmobiles
Post by: jserio on December 24, 2007, 02:47:23 PM
okay. my oldest daugter saw a lil 50cc snowmobile at a mc dealership the other day so now she's begging me for one. i can't afford to buy a new one. however, i'm in luck. my father in law has told me i can have my wife's old 50cc snowmobile. it's in the garage. hasn't been ridden or even started in ten years or so. said he can't remember what exactly is wrong with it. i've never done any kind of work on an engine like this. most of my engine experience is with cars. is a snowmobile engine hard to work on? do they make chiltons/haynes manuals for them? and lastly, would it be worth it to try to get this thing running again?

The larger ones are a bit of a pain. But, I think a small 50cc shouldn't be too hard to work on  :thumb: They make a general "small engine repair" Chiltons  :thumb: That may help  :thumb:

I am sure some others w/ more snowmobile experience will chime in soon  :thumb:

Sounds like fun... Post some pics of it, I have never seen a 50cc sled  :thumb:
