Title: I saw a bike today.........
Post by: spc on December 24, 2007, 08:23:06 PM
As I was pulling up to the toll booth, some guy on a very modified HD cut me off.  I take it in stride and pull into the cash lane behind him.  When I get done paying, I let it pretty wide open and screamed past him like he was standing still :icon_twisted:  Well, about a half mile down the road there's a light that we both got caught at.  While waiting next to eachother at the light, we exchange pleasantries and compliment eachother's bikes.  When the light changes, He revs the hell out of it and and runs an almost 12 o' clock wheelie out of the light :o :o :o :cookoo: :cookoo:  It was freaking sick!!!!  Definitely a bad ass HD with a ballsy rider. :cookoo:

Ha ha ha ha Harley ...
When I was in CA there was this "custom bike builder" that lived 2-3 streets down from me. A few times I was on the GS comming back from work and he was on some custom BS, and we got off the highway and are at the light on the end of the ramp. There is a left turn and then another light, and usually we'd be even to that light, but after that on the straighaway he'd blow past me. 2-3 times it happened when I was wishing I'd catch him one day on my eliminator. I did, and long story short, he was not even close ... I only accelerated hard enough to stay 1-2 bike lengths ahead and he knew it. no revving to the moon, no nailing it in first gear, no tire spinning take off, no clutchless shifting in a hurry, nothing, I took my time with all of that.
Maybe the things are better nowadays, this was in 2002 ... However they are about looking and sounding cool. Not about running fast, handling well or lasting a few 1000 miles.
Cool.
