Title: for the two smokers
Post by: cuda_06 on December 25, 2007, 08:04:59 PM
The first thing that popped into my head when I saw this was a few of the members on here so I figured that I would share.

Here is a side shot to get a slightly better look at the install.

I don't know for sure, the builder really hasn't given much info on it yet.

The bike was the UM rebadged version of the Hyosung GT250R before its heart transplant.

It's a 650. The chassis is very similar to Suzuki. They were heavily inspired by the SV650 and GS I hear. Something about Suzuki engineers working for UM.

Actually, the one pictured was a 250.  If you look at the frames the 250s have the frame that resembles the gs and the 650s have the frame that resemble the sv.

As far as the 2 stroke goes I don't know....
but the 650 4 stroke UM is a hyosung with different fairings. UM is owned by 2 brothers and all they are doing is using hyosungs stuff.  Hyosung has made Suzuki for many many years. now that have branched out on there on to produce there own bikes.  There standard is = to a gs 500e but with a 250 v-twin. the 650 is the same as sv 650. slight differences. steel frame carb'd and different fairings.
Hyosung has a nice cruiser. avatar(650). My brother rode it and said it had a lot of power, smooth, will out run most of the cruisers out there. I'm not talk about the bad ass Suzuki... just your average  cruisers.

Hope this helped ....
If I had the money I'd have a hyosung.

The 2 stroke is a custom install.  Also, Hyosung has made their own bikes for around 30 years now and the whole relationship with Suzuki and Hyosung is about as clear as mud.  Other than that what you said is just about as correct as one can decifer right now.
