I have spent the last 2 hours trying to find an old post. Here is what I remember from it.
1. A special adapter was machined to attach a steering damper to where the removable portion of the frame meets the headstock area
2. It was a girls bike, and she went to MIT maybe
3. There where quite a few pictures of the machining steps
4. She said that she only add parts that made the bike better not to look cool
I just can't find this thread, its from a year or 2 ago.
Anyone remember this also?
no that was before my time... so you are right on the 2 year thing
I don't think it was on this forum. At least I don't remember it, and I joined a month before you did so I should have noticed it. I likely would have made some wry remark about the photos if any machine setup photos were shown, yet I seen nothing in my posts.
Sorry I can't be of more help. :dunno_white:
Time to start from scratch and reinvent the wheel. :)
Something like that would have stuck in my mind too, I have been around since 07/03 and dont recall anything like it though.
You will have to work out a solution for yourself, but at least you know its possible, my guess is she would have used Rose joints or Gimbals on each end of the damper and come up with a way of holding them to the lower yolk and frame.....get the drawing board out :thumb:
