I have some in my basement. I had them on my 2004, took them off because I'm hoping to upgrade this summer. I can e-mail you some pics if you provide your e-mail address. I bought them of e-bay, replaced the bars with vortex and had them painted black at a bodyshop. All together I paid under $200. If you like the pics you can make me an offer...

When I changed to 89 clip-ons, I had to swap out my choke, throttle and clutch cable. They were all too long and pinched too much, making the clutch hard to use and the throttle stuck open. Hopefully you won't have the same problems though. Mine is a 92.

As noted on the WIKI, be carefule of the "stock" '89 handlebars.

1989 GS500 clip-ons
Clip ons from the 1989 GS500 can be fitted without modification onto any year GS500. On the 1st generation models (1989 to 2000) there are no issues whatsoever; however, on the 2001+ models the horn button hits the tank at full lock.

I had no clearance issues or cable issues when installing the 89 clip ons to my 04. Both the horn and starter button cleared the tank and I was able to lock the bars also. It was a direct bolt-on replacement. Maybe because I used Vortex handle bars?...

When I stopped by the dealer I sat on one of the new GS500's and I missed the OE stance...It is more comfortable in my opinion, but the clip ons look more cool  8)
