Title: Found a katana being parted out. Parts list...
Post by: ohgood on January 07, 2008, 05:33:01 PM
EDITED 1-11-08

Here's a list of what is left. Looks like it wasn't much anyway:
Tank 100.00
Wheel & tire 75.00@
Front brakes calipers 50.00 both
Air box 25.00
Mirrors 25.00 both
Wiring harness 25.00
Headlight 25.00 / bracket 10.00
Tail light 25.00
Motor 250.00 (no carbs)
Oil cooler 75.00
Starter 50.00
Frame 75.00

I haven't seen the bike first hand yet. If anyone wants me to look / ask about a particular part, let me know, and I'll let you have whatever parts for my cost + shipping.

I'm hoping to use the forks, discs, and rear shock on my gs. Hopefully I won't screw it up and kill myself in the process. :D

Come to think of it, when you say rear shock, are you referring to the entire swingarm?

No ... just the rear shock. The Kat ones are good for street duty. More beefy and yet very compliant.
91-93 GSXR ones (I got a couple for $100 BTW) are good for more sporting street/track. They gots the remote reservoir.
94 and later GSXR 750 items are prolly going to be faaaar too stiff to be anything except serious track. Also remote reservoir.
The Piggyback reservoir ones will not even fit without removing the airbox/other crap etc.
Cool.

I got a reply from the seller. He states $50 for either. He didn't list a year or CC, so I'll bug him about it. It's just a craigslist ad, but it's local, and I can take a look at the parts this weekend maybe. I've got way too much going on to put them on my gs right now, but I'll give you a first hand impression of things soon as I can.

Like I said, it's parts cost + shipping. I just wanted folks to get use out of them, and hope to learn something along the way...

:)

Got a reply, it's  a 94 katana 750, and he stated the fork seals would need replacing. If anyone wants dibs let me know, like I said I'll take a look at the parts this weekend... here is his TAMPA, FL craigslist ad:

If anyone spots a bit or piece they want, let me know and I'll get a price from him this weekend when I can throw all the junk... er I mean excellent stuff in my truck. I only want my cost+shipping, but I don't want to get stiffed and end up with a bunch of parts to take up my space, ok ? ;)
