First time at a range. Woohoo! It was fun. I can see how guns can be really scary though too.

shooting paper is pretty cool. I typically use a .22 though. It's a lot cheaper.

Nothing other than a battle compares to bring on a military range. I have used and fired everything from small arms to 110mm tank and Carl g anti tank rounds

I thought you were against guns?? :2guns: :2guns: :dunno_white:
Frankie is against the appalling availability of firearms to the general public, and to an extent, I agree with him. There are some people out there that just don't need to have firearms but are perfectly able to purchase. Obviously, firearms are necessary as an integral part of any efficient Armed Force and he is not against that. After all, a strong military is key to maintaining the freedom that we all so heatedly debate.
I used to play a lot of CS but when you enter the range room the air compression and sound itself is pretty impressive and yeah, you realize it is dangerous. Even a 9mm is basically a cannon. Good thing most americans are cool. :P
hehe, you want fun??? Try something like a .454 :icon_twisted: :icon_twisted: pure wrist-shattering fun

:thumb: i bought one not long ago, and ive got my smith 500 as well :D, but ill be damned if ive got to budget to shootem
Never fired a handgun as they are illegal over here, however have shot many hundreds of cartridges from shotguns.
My favorite though is target shooting with rifles at long range. I work on a large farm and we have a couple of rifles we use for shooting rabbits but we take em target shooting at some impresive ranges across fields.
There isn't any more satisfying feeling than looking at a small target something like a potato or egg, through the scope, accounting for wind and then taking your shot, you feel the recoil and just see the target splattered. Such a good feeling and very cool. I find rifles and shotguns feel safe but even the air pistols we have i dont trust. I trust the shotgun because you can see if its loaded, i trust the rifle because its bolt action and i can see when its loaded, i dont trust the handguns i just think they are so easy to set off.
:cookoo: You never trust a weapon to be safe even when it's visually unloaded....
There's 90% of the problem right there no one is smart enough anymore to teach people to always treat a wepon as if it's loaded.
Amen, I absolutely trust my firearms and their reliability, but that still doesn't change the fact that they are dangerous and need to be treated with respect. To give credence to BP's statement: I checked the breech of my Mauser once and nothing came back with the bolt, however I knew that I had a round in there. It had slipped off the retainer and stayed in the barrel.
I think i have mis lead you, i treat all weapons as loaded, i don't take an unloaded shotgun to be safe, anything can happen and basic gun safety is to treat it as loaded. However you can't change how you feel about something, i find myself naturally more apprehensive of handguns than rifles or shotguns.
That's just a misconception based on limited real-life knowledge. Handguns are as safe as you make them. I have a kel-tec .380 that doesn't have a safety, they just don't come with em, but the trigger pull is something retarded like 22lbs. It will not accidentally discharge any more easily than a firearm with a safety.
Terry hit it bang on for me

Frankie, how did you get your hands on such weaponry?

20 plus years in the military

BP. I wouldn't say that No one is smart enough to teach proper firearm safety.
When I was 5 my dad took me out with a .22 and a couple of cantaloupes.
I was very impressed with the damage inflicted on those fruit.
Now, I have a 6 year old, and he has had the same demonstration.
As well as all basic firearm safety.
It's always loaded.
Don't point it at anyone.
Don't climb over fences while carrying a gun. Etc......
Have fun and BeSafe.
Are u shooting or holding the camera? what handgun is that being shot? 9mm?
i'd say firearm safety is one of those classic American father-son rites of passage, like learning to fly fish, drive a stick shift, pull start a lawnmower, etc.
except my parents were very PC and anti-combat, actually I really only got the pull-start lawnmower training out of the deal.
however i have seen HEAT like 8 times, messed around with a vintage Luger, and also played a LOT of Counterstrike and Counterstrike: Source, so by the time I got to the range I had no problem at all. :icon_razz:
Ok puddle your right I made a generalization that I shouldn't have made. Of course I could also assume since you live in Pocola tha a lot of fathers and sons shoot regularly especially during deer season.
The military had to unteach me what my dad did hagshagag
I understand you were in the millitary Frankie. I compiled 7 years myself. It's just that most Navy boys don't get their hands on such stuff.
Did your rank get you opportunities? BTW what rank did you attain? If you don't mind.

fortunately social management is not your job :flipoff: it's mine :kiss3: I say guns for all and let society sort them out so god dont got too
A strong military can also take all of those freedoms away.
I'm not anti-government, at least not yet, just playing devils advocate.
