I ve been trying to figure out what the dealer did to my bike? First they failed to adjust my valves during my last two services after the bike kept stalling i came across blueskygals thread which suggested that the valve were out of spec. SO, i checked and what do you know #1&2 exhust valves had no clearance and i contacted the dealer.(gave me nothing but additude so i informed suzuki). they told me to take it back and make them recheck their work ,after they threatened to bill me for checking it again I got suzuki involved needless to say they changed there tune. But they were very adimint about billing me if it was in spec and i agreed to knowing they werent, anyway i was told it would be about an hour to recheck turned into four finally got a call from the manager he said the valves were in spec but, he had decided not to charge the 3hours because of my troubles and having to bring it back down, :bs: :bs: :bs: Yea right!! I told him dont put it back togeather untill i get there I wanna check it myslf, When i got there and checked the valve they were all in spec .05 all around. They tried to say that they were in spec the whole time and that my ALL STOCK 06 was running VERY LEAN and that i probly should pay them to remove the brass cover from the air/mix screw and adjust it(why its stock?) or pay them to look for a vacuum leak I told him no way. The next day i came to pic it up when they started it up it sounded like a steam engine, hissing, and coughing (like it had a vac leak :dunno_white:) Then they tried to tell me thats how i brought it in  then they asked me "are you sure you dont want us to fix it?" I just glared!! I got it home and decide to recheck everything compression-good,carbs-clean w/no clogs, Petcock valve- Problem persists on PRI, plugs only have thirty miles on them- ah ha one has carbon(looks normal) the other is spotless but looks like it has been sparking But maybe not getting fuel??? NOW TO MY QUESTION-- On the back top of my 06 gs500f petcock valve is a vac line it runs about 12in then meets a tee, on the opposite end of the tee is another line, but on the side nub there is NOTHING, no line, no cap, no breather, nothing to keep dust out, just a naked exposed nub? Is this right? Is there something missing? BEFORE ANYONE SAY'S IT im ordering a manual next week.(been layed up from stomach surgery).
Thanks for any help
If anyone has a chance check out my posts on blueskygals thread "stumped stalling gs"
Yes.That line should plug into one of the carbs. You may have to remove the air box to find the vacuum port.Sounds like your dealer is pretty crumby. If there's another dealer around,I'd talk to them. They love stealing biz from other dealers.
Stay on Suzuki about this.Fry the dealers butt on this. They are giving Suzuki a bad name!.I would make it my very own special project! ;)
What item number is the "T" on [THIS DIAGRAM (http://images.powersportsnetwork.com/fiche/images/Suzuki/2004/Motorcycles/7247_13A.gif)]? (If it's 62, be sure to say whether it's the upper 62 or the lower 62.)
yea stay on suzuki about this.. I would call them and then write them a letter. tell them all about what happened. The phone call gives them a heads up while the letter means your serious. If they are screwing you im sure they are scewing other riders. I would say try to talk to some other people who ride and use that same dealer. Find out if they have any problems...IF they did then you know somethings up. If not then maybe it was just them trying to make an extra buck that day. either way good luck
Oh yeah, and which dealer would this happen to be? Over in Oakland, there's a Suzuki dealer that has a very solid reputation.
However, I would probably prefer a local place over any dealer. The thing about a dealer is that they do most of the work behind the scenes. The only way to get an idea of what they did is to look at the synopsis on the invoice. At smaller places you can usually talk with the mechanics, and they're usually more than glad to explain what they did, and what you could do in the future to fix/prevent it from happening again.

I already have, i stumbled across one the other day on my way to a fellow rider/owner of Bob's used cycles R.I.P. Anyways i told them what happened and he agreed that it sounds VERY FISHY but seem more than willing to help(go figure$$$, lol), another thing thats nice i that they'll honor all of my warranties.

We'll put it this way, When more experianced riders (5+years) people ask me where i bought my bike(extended warranty) and i say "Town an Country motorsports the ALL say " ewwww F**k have heard about them right" Yup found out later they have a REALLY BAD rep. doah!

Hmmm.... Although the diagram doesn't show the "T" connected to anything, I wouldn't take that as gospel, especially since it's near the edge of the drawing. It might connect to a part that's documented in a different diagram. But now, if someone wanted to compare their setup to yours, they will know which part to look for.
Speaking of diagrams, you can find a full set for your bike starting from my [
Parts Fiche (http://www.bbburma.net/Documents/GS500_Parts_Fiche_1.html)] page. (There is also a link on [
my home page (http://www.bbburma.net/)].) Hillsboro and MrCycles apparently share the same diagram images, which are "cleaner" than the ones on the BikeBandit and Ron Ayers sites.
thanks for the links, i couldnt find anything conclusive. The petcock diagram dosent even show the vacuum line but it's there, im gonna keep looking. Hopefully someone who already has their bike tank off and airbox out will notice this thread and take a look for me, Im running out of ideas here :cookoo:
Thank you
Hi da602krew,
I posted this originally here (http://gstwins.com/gsboard/index.php?topic=38075.0)
First pic is pretty self explanatory. Taken from the right hand side of the bike, it captures most of the hose configuration...

The third "T" isn't shown in either of these images, it's a bit further up the left hand side of the 3-way valve assembly thingy (which is #47 in THIS DIAGRAM (http://images.powersportsnetwork.com/fiche/images/Suzuki/2004/Motorcycles/7247_13A.gif))

Hope this helps.
Cheers,
J
Thanks groff !
Sweet pic's, didnt show what's connected to #78 but did help confirm the rest are right. Why would my stock 06 start running lean? Why would cyclinder 1 plug look spotless (except for the tip) after 30 miles and 2 look used-normal. 1 looks like it not burning/getting fuel but is sparking(gonna confirm spark on sat.) and the carbs are clean :cookoo:. Defective petcock?, carbs out of sync? Float hight? on an o6 w/just 12k that dosnt sound right? I hear alot of take about guy who use washers on their needles? Is that nessesary for the gs or something? not sure why their doing it can anyone explain it?
thanks
