Title: High beam indicator light does not work
Post by: 510 on January 14, 2008, 05:54:49 PM
Recently, I've noticed that the high beam indicator light in the gauge cluster doesn't light up anymore. This is weird because it's the only light that doesn't work; all the rest of them are fine.

I can't think of any reasons why it doesn't. The only mod I've made so far around the gauges is installing clip-ons, so the gauge cluster is now mounted to a cut-out steel plate instead of the original top plate.

Before I tear into the gauges with a multimeter, I'd like to know if anyone else had this problem, and if there's some really easy fix that I'm overlooking.

Thanks!

Probably the bulb burned out.  Check that first.  I use a #194 bulb from auto parts store or Walmart.

Most of my indicators have burned out since I've bought the bike. First it was the high beams, then the turn signals (but I took those off, so it doesn't really matter) and now the tach bulb has gone out. I'm going to replace them with some LEDs so I don't have to mess with them anytime soon.  Check out the wiki for part numbers.

Lift the blue lens up with a knife and the bulb is underneath....I am on my third bulb cuz I ride with Hi beams on all the time.

Replace with LEDs and you won't have any issues with them burning out  :thumb:
