Title: Integrated Turn Signals in CA
Post by: UnSaniTiZ on January 17, 2008, 12:56:40 AM
Quick Question:

Does anybody know if integrated turn signals (this will be from clearalternatives) are legal/illegal in California? I know there's a bunch of CA riders here and I want to find out before I spend the $$$.

Thanks,
-UnSaniTiZ

I know it's unlikely I'll get a ticket either way, but I want to know before I make the decision.

I haven't got a fix-it ticket or even pulled over after I installed integrated taillights. It's been about 4 months, and I'm sure quite a few cop cars have been behind me.

From what I hear, it's mostly about how the integrated taillights don't provide a bright enough light for the license plate. To play it on the safe side, get a separate LED light for the taillight and I think you should be fine.

yes, they are illegal in ca since they are not dot aprouved. as for getting a ticket, if they do stop u for it would probably just be used as P/C because you were acting suspicious.

Thanks guys,

if hand signals are allowed then the lights should be ok too
