Title: Superbike bars
Post by: quiktaco on January 25, 2008, 11:09:50 AM
So I found some superbike bars by Bikemasters on Chaparral.com for $12.99 today.  I know everyone says they work great for a close to stock, but lower/sportier stance, and that's great, but the center dimension doesn't look like it will fit.  The dimensions of the one I found are 29.2" wide, 3.04" rise, 3" pull back, 4" center.  That center measurement is what is worrying me.  I measured my bike, and it's 4.75" to the outside of the brackets.  Do these bars fit properly?

Also, if these do fit, I'm assuming they are open ends, so is it possible to cut them down an inch or so on each side to narrow them a bit?

Thanks for your insight

It's really close, but mine fit ok.  I wouldn't call it "properly" because the bar bends just outside the mounts, but I never had any problems with them.

You can cut the ends down - an inch on each side should definitely be doable.  There are pictures in the wiki of them on my bike if you haven't seen them yet.

Awesome!  Thanks.  Yeah, I was looking at your bike on Wiki, that's what made me decide on these, but when I saw the measurements of them, I wanted to make sure I was going to order the right ones.

Comfortable? Has anyone tried these on the "F" model? Do they hit the tank / fairing when turned?

Cheers,
J
