Post by: TylenolCold on January 27, 2008, 01:28:14 AM
Would this fit as a direct replacement for my brakelight bulbs?

i'm really not too lazy to check, my bike's just in a whole different area/state than I'm in right now, and i was hoping that someone would know this stuff off the top of their head   :icon_lol:

I would say yes or not, but since I have gone to LED panel, I have no idea, pop the rear light off and check whats the bulb supposed to be, but I think... it should fit (in the socket) , now will you have enough space to make the rest of the led assembly fit. is another topic :)

Yes it will fit BUT you will loose some of the brake light intensity using white LED's over red.

You want RED leds to make a nice bright red light the white leds get washed out a little.  Also make sure they are dual contact so you have a running light and a brake light.

1157 bulbs have dual contacts (used in dual intensity running/brake lights)

1156 bulbs have a single contact and are used for indicators.
